After 12 years of service to the ASUOC as President, Rev. Lolita Martinez has resigned due to person issues.  We wish to thank Rev. Spiritualism is a Philosophy, Science and Religion based on the belief of the continuous existence of the Spirit or Soul, even after physical death and the ability to communicate with them.

Aspects of this Philosophy date right back into the very early ages of mankind's history.   Emma Hardinge Britten, the most renowned and most respected advocate and proponent in the early Modern Spiritualist Movement proposed principles that applied to Spiritualism and it is a modern form that is followed by our Spiritualist friends today.

The majority of Spiritualists are people who at some time were part of an orthodox religion and discovered that the knowledge presented was very limited and left them with many questions.  

Spiritualism has "Seven Principles" that act as guidelines. They   are open to interpretation to adapt and apply to each person's particular circumstances.

1. The Fatherhood of God

2 The Brotherhood of Man

3. The communication of spirit and the ministry of angels.

4. The continuous existence of the human soul

5. Personal Responsibility

6. Compensation and Retribution for all good and evil deeds done on earth

7. Eternal progress open to every human soul.

DEFINITION OF ANGELS.
As Spiritualists, our definition of angels is a spiritually evolved intelligence, which is incarnate or discarnate, that aids and touches the soul of another.  It is possible to work with their essences, however they are never a personal guide. 

ALIENS.   
We cannot deny the possibility of the existence of aliens.  Contrary to popular belief, not everyone who believes in aliens is disturbed.  Many people hold this belief but do not indoctrinate others.  Even though people may say they have had certain experiences, they can only have them subjectively and we cannot confirm or deny them.

ARCH-ANGELS, ASCENDED MASTERS & GUIDES. 
As Spiritualists, we understand and accept the role of guides as a supporting team to us in our earthly lives, in our mediumship and our spiritual progression.  We accept that certain reflections of teachings from a spiritual hierahy, be it Ascended Masters or Arch-Angels, do exist and may be accessed but we do not accept that these higher beings take the role of individual guides in our lives.

PROTECTION. 
We accept that, based on the Fifth Principle of Personal Responsibility, the only protection that is needed is from our own lack of spiritual understanding.  Our greater understanding of Natural Law allows us the knowledge that God is the ultimate embodiment of uncondition love and protection.

We  believe we feed our own paranoia and this can be realised through our burgening psychic sensitivity and misguided or malicious advice from others.  The damage we can do to ourselves is unlimited as we respond through jealousy, bitterness, hatred, revence, hurt and anger, which may have a karmic effect.


EVIL SPIRITS.
We cannot accept the idea of evil spirits.  As spirit is the pure expression of God, evil surely is a product of the negative thoughts and actions of the conscious mind and therefore, not of spirit.  We do not accept the idea, therefore, that thespirit world could exert a harmful force on humankind.
